About The Forum
The South African Water and Energy Forum 2011 is a two-day Forum sponsored by Exxaro Resources, Nedbank and Eskom, aimed at all sectors of the economy.
“We can engineer one solution to all three problems through the collective effort of government, private sector, scientists and entrepreneurs, but the time for action is now.”
The Forum will examine and address the following themes:
- Water as a scarce and dwindling resource in an increasingly dry climate;
- The water/energy/food security nexus with a view to developing tangible goal-oriented outcomes in the form of PPP’s or collaborative solutions
- The shifting water paradigm’s impact on corporate South Africa and expanding the risk profile of water issues and its impact on business
- Utilising the vast AMD resource in the Western Basin
- Assessing the thorium option for nuclear power generation
- Highlighting technological advances in water treatment and power generation
- Elements of urban planning & architectural design relating to water infrastructure
The two-day event will provide ample networking, brainstorming, blue-sky thinking opportunities.
Delegate places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

My intention with this communication is to highlight the huge contribution the Zerho Waterless toilet can make in preserving and protecting our water resources – if the right people know about it!!
In my mind, your organisation and clients are ‘the right people’ …

The Water Research Commission is responsible for coordinating water research in South Africa. They are therefore in a position to make a valuable contribution on your panels, especially the panels of the first three sessions.
Our website is currently under construction but have a look anyway (http://www.rolloutthebarrel.org) We would like to bring our barrels to South Africa and to countries in the Sub Sahara to enable those end users easier transportation of water from pump/tap to their homes. We would welcome a partner(s) to expand our operations to distribute our barrel either through donation, NGO or direct sale.
These 40 litre barrels are perfect for emergency situations, domestic use and transportation over long distances.
Our barrels can be used by children from 4/5 upwards and enable the movement of larger quantities of water, reducing the burden and eliminating spillage. They also improve both time and health aspects of securing sufficient drinking water at the point of use.
Whilst we are currently based in the UK we are in the process of appointing agents in various countries including SA and in discussion with UNICEF.
If you have any ideas or would like to assist in distributing these easy to use barrels to communities in Southern Africa please contact us…
Every drop is precious………..
